When considering Utopia I started to quickly come up with ideas that were a reflection of what I has already inspired me. I used my small book to to develop my idea through rough notes, sketches and experiments, much like the work I had viewed in the V&A.
My initial ideas were the idea of finding your own personal Utopia within yourself. As i considered this i made quick sketches with my eyes closed that i believed represented someones thoughts and perceptions of themselves. I was very interested in overlapping and layering within my work so used this a base to my workings.
I began to consider text that inspired my visual ideas so compiled a collection of quotes and sayings that i felt connected to what I was working towards. These particular ones i felt linked well to my interest in self expression, self acceptance and ultimately personal Utopia.
